Getting Ready for Senior Prom

Kellen football 2007I know most of my posts are about Tania & Alex…being the ones we adopted from Russia a few years ago…they seem to have to most stories. However, today my attention is going to Kellen…our Biological Baby…third son…who has just turned 18 and is ready to graduate from High School.

I admit, he was very attached to me growing up as he was 5 and 7 years younger than his brothers. So went everywhere together. He was our youngest for 14 yrs. until we adopted 2 kids from Russia in the summer of 2004. He does have a dry, very funny, sense of humor which I have always liked.

Shortly after the adoption of the two kids, he came to me and sighed, “I think I am going through ‘middle child syndrome’.  2 weeks of being a middle child!

After Turnabout…a dance where the girls ask the boys, his clothes came home soaking wet…even his tie!  When I asked what had happened, he said it was really hot in the gym and he was sweating.  Well, that didn’t explain the tie.  Then he told me he had to wipe the sweat off his face with something!  What a nut!

He wanted to get a green and yellow tux for prom in honor of Brett Favre’s retirement from the Packers.  His date wasn’t too crazy about that.  He decided to get a white tux with yellow accessories since she is wearing yellow.  She is a Bears fan and really didn’t want him wearing green!

He did a Psychology paper last night about the 3 stages of loss.  Of course, he wrote about the day he learned that Brett Favre was retiring from the Packers and the 3 stages of loss he (Kellen) went through.

We will sure miss his antics when he heads off to Univ. of MO. in Columbia in the fall.
