Lake County IL Halloween Trick or Treat Times 2011

As a Community Service I always post the Halloween Trick or Treat times for Lake County, IL. Remember the days when we all trick or treated on Oct. 31st? Those were a simpler time. Now a kid can get candy for 3 days in a row traveling to various communities. Is it any wonder we have an obesity problem?
**If your kids want to do something nice with their candy besides eating it…there is a dental office in Gurnee/Vernon Hills who is collecting candy for the troops. They will pay for it by the pound.

Have fun…and be safe!

Thanks for posting these. Just FYI we live in Lake Villa and I just checked our village website. They are listing Trick-or-treating on Oct. 31st, not on Sunday as your article states. Thought you’d want to know ;)

Thanks again for spreading around 2 days of dress up fun!!

  7. I trick or treated as a kid 40 years ago twice. My grandma’s was always on Sunday. And I’m stil 5’8″ and 145lbs.
We have an obesity problem because parents dont know how to portion themselves and their kids and are too lazy to go hiking, biking with their kids. Dinner is a drive thru restaurant.
My kids dont trick or treat to get crayons or granola bars. They do it to get CANDY and yes we let our kids eat til they puke. IT’s all in the fun of Halloween, LOL

    • Sad but true. My son just loves the quest…dressing up and running house to house. (At least kids are walking or running to each house for some exercise–lol!) He is not much of a candy lover, thankfully. We plan on donating most of our candy to our dentist who is shipping candy to our service men. Thanks for the comment.
