Teenage Drivers and Accidents

Well…the happiness of getting a drivers license did not last long. By evening, our daughter had driven to the mall (without permission) and crashing the car into a median and than a curb. No one was hurt but the car had to be towed and almost 2 weeks later, is still in the shop.
This is a parent’s nightmare and now we struggle to deal with how to punish taking the car to a place we never would have allowed (on a holiday weekend night). She has no job, therefore having her help us pay us back for damages, is not going to happen.

Sigh! Not exactly the news we needed right before Christmas.
Bah humbug….

  1. Gosh Deb, so sorry to hear this. It just doesn’t end for you. I’m sure she feels really bad, but yes she will have to have consequences, that’s the only way they learn.
